Shoeboxes Galore

Nancy packing a shoebox

In the Fall of 2022, your KFM team was looking to do a service project together during the holiday season. We have so much to be thankful for and we wanted to help those in need to make their holiday season a little brighter! We landed on the organization Samaritan’s Purse and decided to pack shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. Supplies were purchased and the team (along with Kate’s daughter, Hadley) spent the afternoon packing 50 boxes that eventually made their way to Nicaragua!

As we were planning to pack shoeboxes again this year, we decided to go big and pack 150 boxes. We also wanted to include our amazing clients in the process. On November 17th, we welcomed some of our Kempville Family members for a holiday open house in the Kemp Financial office. We had a festive atmosphere, created with Christmas music and Miracle on 34th Street playing in the background.  We created an assembly line for packing boxes and – thanks to our generous clients/elves – breezed through all 150 shoeboxes in no time! A crafting station was available and many of our clients made adorable snow globes to take home.

Hot apple cider, snacks, and sweets were enjoyed by all, including some homemade treats (Thank you Paulette and Julie!).

It was a joyful afternoon to remember. Spending time with our wonderful clients who have big hearts for those in need was the perfect way to kick off the holiday season!
