Kate Coogan
Client Experience Specialist
Kate was born and raised in Long Beach, California and grew up with the arts all around her. Her dad is a well-known actor at South Coast Repertory in Costa Mesa, and her mom worked behind the scenes in the education department. Kate took her first ballet class at the age of 8 and the rest is history. She spent the next 15 years training and performing all over the country. She eventually transitioned to teaching ballet, and teaches at two studios in Orange County.
Kate went to California State University, Long Beach and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development. A year before graduating she married her husband, Todd, in 2006. They have two wonderful daughters Presley (14) and Hadley (12).
Kate joined Kemp Financial in September 2019 and loves being a part of the KFM Family. She enjoys connecting with clients and being a part of their journey here.
Q & A with Kate
Are you an early bird or a night owl?
I am most definitely an early bird. I was never one to stay up late studying for a test or writing a paper. I would rather go to bed early and wake up extra early to get anything done, mornings are when I am most productive.
What’s one of your favorite memories from the past year?
My husband and I love watching movies, and one of our favorites is Amadeus. Back when we were dating, he said someday he would love to see the film with a live orchestra playing the score. This past September we got to do exactly that at the Hollywood Bowl, it was a magical evening.
Where is the most interesting place you have been? Why?
My sister studied art history abroad in Rome in 2008 and my mom and I visited her for a week that November. My sister had been there a couple months by the time we got there so it was like having our own personal tour guide. She had all the info about the museums and knew the best places to eat.
